King's Letter..
As we all know Dr. King had a dream for us all to be created equally whether we are white, Black, or Hispanic. Finally we are there. Well almost. In the article I have read for my English class Letter from a Birmingham Jail dated April 16, 1963 you could tell that Dr. King was a very smart and determined gentleman. All he wanted was peace. Dr. King talks about how wrong and humiliating it is to have to walk around with racial profiling everywhere, having to explain to children why certain things were about. For example, why they could not go to a certain restaurant, walk through a certain door, and why they had to sleep in cars because they were not allowed to sleep in hotel rooms. He also states how blacks were not respected being called "Nigger" "colored" and "boy." Dr. King explains just and unjust laws. As we learned just laws are laws that are man-made that squares with the moral law or law of God. An unjust law is a law that is out of harmony with the moral law. In the article he tells us he was arrested for marching without a permit. Dr. King states many important and interesting things in his ten page letter. I feel that Dr. King only wanted to make the world a better place for us to live in. There is no reason to be a racist when we all could just get along. People stress more worrying about the wrong things like who is drinking out of certain water fountain, who came in the front door, who sat where at a restaurant. It is all evil doings and has no logical reason. What if the tables were turned? No man is better than any other. We all bleed, speak, and walk. I say it is time for it to end NOW!
